Sunny Side Up

The smell of barbecues accelerates the hatching of Neurax Worm eggs. Increases infectivity, especially in hot countries

Swine 1

Nipah Virus: Pigs susceptible to pathogen and able to infect humans. Increase infectivity, especially in rural locations, as well as likelihood of mutation. Swine Flu: Pathogen uses pigs as prime host for antigenic shift - exchanging genes with multiple strains of influenza,

Swine 2

Nipah Virus: Pathogen spreads through pig faeces. Increase infectivity, especially in rural locations, as well as likelihood of mutation. Swine Flu: Pigs more susceptible to infection by pathogen crossing species barrier. Increases infectivity, particularly in rural areas

Swine 3

Pathogen spreads through pork produce. Greatly increases infectivity as well as likelihood of mutation.

Transmissions

Transmission traits can be altered in the Transmission screen. Evolving Transmission vectors increases infectivity, gives you bonuses in specific countries, and let you infect planes and ships easier. There are 7 Transmission traits to begin with, then more are unlocked for evolution as you evolve traits. Transmission traits are extremely useful in the early game as they do not increase severity, allowing your disease to remain undetected all whilst proliferating quickly. The only exception is with Mega Brutal difficulty, where diseases with no severity can still be detected.

Transmissions (Multiplayer)

In multiplayer, the transmissions of VS Mode and Co-Op Mode are similar to those of the Main Game, with the exception that Blood and Insect transmissions are not available and are replaced by Droplets and Dust.

Transmissions (Necroa Virus)

These transmissions can only be taken by first taking the 'Zoonotic Shift' trait, available at the start of the game.

Transmissions (Neurax Worm)

These transmissions can only be taken by first evolving the Concertina Locomotion trait, which is available at the start of the game. To main page

Transmissions (Simian Flu)

The following is a list of transmissions in the Simian Flu DLC:

Undulatory Locomotion

Ability to propagate flexural waves along the length of the worm allows an increase in speed and range outside host, increasing infectiousness

2DNA

Urogenital Expansion

Virus can replicate in kidneys and urinary tract, increasing infectiousness through urine and other bodily fluids

9DNA

Water

Variations of this transmission for Neurax cause a slight increase in the severity of the disease as opposed to other variations. It makes the skin of the worm become vascularized, allowing the absorption of oxygen, which, in turn, allows it to survive in underwater conditions.

Water 1

Pathogen can survive outside the body in fresh, warm water. Increase infectivity, especially in humid environments and ship transmission

9DNA

Water 2

Pathogen able to survive in chemically treated water. Increase infectivity, especially in humid environments and ship transmission

15DNA

Wellington Worm

Worms attracted to waterproof footwear to protect their eggs from the rain. Increases infectivity, especially in humid countries.

11DNA

Wheat

Pathogen spreads through consumption of wheat. Increases infectivity.

9DNA

Wild Game

Pathogen spreads through consumption of wild game. Increases infectivity across land borders and raises mutation chance

Wild Side

Worms link telepathically to animals, and use them to carry them to carry eggs far and wide. Increases infectivity, especially in rural areas

10DNA

Wolf 1

Wolves suspictible to infection. Increases infectivity, especially in rural regions and mutation.

6DNA

Wolf 2

Infected wolves become rabid and travel great distances. Increases infectivity, especially in rural regions and mutation

Zoonotic Shift

Zoonotic Shift is a tier 1 transmission found in the Necroa Virus DLC as well as the Shadow Plague DLC. It makes a genetic shift in the pathogen which makes cross-species infection possible, allowing the disease to spread. However, it will increase future research speed.
