Festival of Love
The Festival of Love is a random event that may happen before the humanity discover your plague, but may not happen at all in some games. It has a 1/400 chance per day to happen if you have 4~4767 infected. It can happen in almost any country, usually occurring in the player's starting country. After this event, the disease will spread faster whether or not Nausea is evolved, multiplying the amount infected by 2~6 times.

Giza is an origin story exclusive to the Necroa Virus DLC.
Goldman Stanley Bank Crisis
The Goldman Stanley Bank Crisis is a news event.
ICure
iCure is a device created by Apple$oft. It is designed so that people can help cure the player’s disease. Its screen, however, is water-sensitive, allowing players to counter it by evolving the Sweating symptom. In Necroa Virus, however, Hyper Salivation counters it. If not countered, a "success" popup will appear, while the cure percentage will significantly increase. In Shadow Plague, Steroidal Boost counters it.
Mystery Plague
Mystery Plague is a news event in Plague Inc. After the player's selected country is completely infected, a news popup will appear informing of rumors about an unknown and mysterious illness (the player's plague ) that would be spreading across the country. Doctors, however, do not find any evidence of the plague.
Natural Disasters
Natural Disasters are random events in Plague Inc.. Once a natural disaster occurs, the player will be notified via RMS/WHO reports. A natural disaster kills people in the affected country, with deaths ranging from less than one hundred people to several thousand. Keep in mind that the player's plague is not the cause of those deaths, and as such, his/her/their/its plague will not be spotted. A Natural Disaster can kill off infected people in a country, and if the infected count is still low, this can reset all of one's progress in that country. It can also cause the destruction…

The News is a part of Plague Inc. in which world news is displayed. There are some headlines which affect the plague and others which are entirely random. There are also CDC, WHO (formerly RMS) news headlines. For more information, please see List of references.
Nuclear Retaliation
Nuclear Retaliation is a news event on Plague Inc. The event begins with a news popup informing that the USA president has contracted the plague and has taken ill, and it is unknown if he can remain in power. Shortly after, another popup informs that the president has been replaced by Spalin, instead of the vice president, as it should be.
Olympics Mystery
The Olympics mystery is a news event in Plague Inc. It eventually leads to Olympics back on!. If the host country has not been infected yet, or even if it has, there will be another news popup, <plague name> infects <country>!. Drug Resistance I must be acquired for this to work. The achievement Olympic Spoiler may be acquired for infecting the host country in this way.
People
Several parodies of real people are mentioned as characters in Plague Inc. Some are part of an interaction necessary to gain a certain achievement, while others are simply used for jokes in the News bar.

PfiGlax is an origin story exclusive to the Necroa Virus DLC.
Popups
Popups are small paragraphs that appear on the screen, and automatically pause the game while they are present. However it is possible to continue the game while a popup is open on screen.
RMS watchlist
The RMS Watchlist is a list of diseases which must be watched because they are potentially dangerous. It is published by the organization RMS. All plagues are eventually put on this list, regardless of how dangerous or deadly they are. On Mega Brutal difficulty, diseases with no symptoms may be placed on the watchlist.
Sterilisation filters
New sterilisation filters are a news event which affects the way a plague spreads from country to country. This may happen with airplanes or ships. Only advanced water or airborne diseases can avoid these filters. Air 1 for airplanes and Water 1 for boats must be acquired to avoid the filters.
